After extensive building restoration work, the Allegany Museum moved into its new home on the Second Floor of the former Post Office and District Court Building at 3 Pershing Street. The museum now is a major anchor in the Canal Place Heritage Tourism Area—a key partner in the economic revitalization of Cumberland and Allegany County. The museum also serves as a critical link between Canal Place and the Historic Downtown Mall on Baltimore Street.
